The Palo Verde Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution was chartered on January 11, 1969.  We serve the East Valley Communities of Ahwatukee, Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Sun Lakes, Tempe, and the southern portion of Scottsdale.

The immediate past SAR Rocky Mountain Vice President General, Dr. Dan Heller, MD, is a member of our Palo Verde Chapter.

All SAR members, spouses, prospective members and guests are welcome to attend our chapter meetings.   Meetings are held monthly from September to May.   With the exception of our September dinner meeting, our meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month at 8:30 AM at the Dobson's Restaurant, located at 2155 S. Dobson Road in Mesa, Arizona, about two blocks south of Baseline Road.  We have interesting speakers each month on varied topics.  Some speakers in the past have informed us about the workings of the Palo Verde Nuclear Energy Plant and the history of the bagpipe.  Some of our planned programs for this fall include the "Toughest Sheriff in the Country" - Joe Arpaio and Christmas Carols by a local high school choir.
To make reservations, call Bob McKinley, phone number (480) 897-7712

Our activities include awarding individuals and groups for outstanding community services, such as the Fire Safety Awards in September, Law Enforcement Awards in October, and JROTC and ROTC awards in April or May.  Our Palo Verde Chapter's 2005 outstanding cadet, Michael Calkins, also won the outstanding JROTC Cadet national award of a golden medallion and $1,000. at the July 2005 SAR National Society Convention.
