Tucson Chapter Calendar
Meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month except during the
summer (June - August) and when there is a conflicting State meeting
(February, April and November). We meet for breakfast and an informative talk from 9 to 11 A.M.
We have interesting speakers on a variety of subjects. Email
John Niemeyer if you have a story you think would be of interest to the chapter.
Southwest/Tucson History subjects are especially welcome.
Recent topics include Family History Research in the Revolutionary
War era, humorous aspects of Tucson's history, Revolutionary War
medicine, the origins of our "place names" including "Arizona," and
medical aspects of the death of George Washington.
Our activities include the JROTC and ROTC awards, a newly
revitalized and very active Eagle Scout award program, Celtic Festival
and Presidio Soldado participation, numerous Color Guard activities and
especially the Law Enforcement Awards dinner, which is held in
conjunction with our annual meeting in January. Thanks to
compatriot Warren Alter, National Committee Chair, we lead the nation in this!
